Our software works fine under Microsoft's Windows Vista

The version 7 of Tropes, Zoom and Overtext Index work seamlessly under Windows Vista (32 bits). Note that Microsoft recommends a minimum of 1 Gb of RAM memory and a recent graphic card to enable the Aero interface.

Use the Microsoft Windows Vista Upgrade Advisor to determine if your computer can run Windows Vista.

Semantic-Knowledge announces Tropes Zoom V7

Introducing the new developments in Version 7.0:

  1. The entire range benefits from a New Semantic Kernel with extended capacities. On the technical side, the maximum size of a compound term has been raised to 79 characters, the maximum size of a Scenario has been increased to 65,000 groups (including over 100,000 lexical entries), and the internal dictionaries of the software have been doubled in capacity. This modification opens excellent prospects for the future. It is now possible to import most existing large thesauruses and encyclopedic dictionaries into the Scenario. Upstream compatibility is maintained: your old Scenarios can be imported into the new version.
  2. We have greatly increased the number of semantic classes managed as standard in the V7 semantic networks, with the aim of making Zoom searches more precise, to have more legible references and to facilitate the creation of classifications (Scenarios) for projects concerning Business Intelligence, Marketing analysis or Information science.
  3. The new Graph of the actors represents the concentration of relations between the main actors in the whole of the text. It can be used to make a visual comparison of the "weight" of the Relations between the principal references (or between the groups in the Scenario). The frequency of relations and the number of different relations are indicators of the center of interest of the text analyzed.
  4. Addition of a Terminology extractor capable of automatically identifying most significant expressions and compounds, as well as all nouns not classified in the existing classification. This new tool is useful both for rapidly enriching the Scenarios of the software (for example, by grouping together all acronyms and the expressions corresponding to them) and for obtaining a more precise classification (proposing, for example, to "hard-wire" terms causing ambiguity problems, and/or which might generate "noise" in the list of Relations).
  5. And many other modifications to make life easier for all our users.

An application of Semantic analysis in Architecture.
On holidays in France? Then go to the Centre Georges Pompidou, the giant Arts center located in the Beaubourg district of Paris, and see the Morphosis exhibition. It contains a magnificent 3D semantic graph synthesizing the texts of the Morphosis group, the famous American architecture agency. The result of analysis comes from Tropes Zoom, our Semantic Search Engine. If you can't go to Europe now, just wait until 2007: the Morphosis Exhibition is moving to Los Angeles, next year.

Happy Birthday: Tropes software is 10 years old!

Version 1.0 of Tropes was launched in November 1994 and could analyze a novel within one minute. This first version was followed in 1995 by Tropes Documentary, our first Semantic Search Engine (which was afterward replaced by Tropes Zoom). Imagine: semantic analysis was an unknown field at this time. Our software today works in six languages, is marketed all over the world and benefits from 10 years of experience in Semantics.

Acetic announces Tropes Zoom V6.2

There are so many changes that we could have called it V7:

  1. Addition of a function of Search for Similar Texts (from a controlled vocabulary) in Zoom Semantic Search Engine. This tool enables bypassing of anecdotal vocabulary so that the software focuses on the main topic. A function "Search for a text similar to this" that works well, is a real novelty. To speed your searches for analogies in patents, detection of plagiarisms, evaluation of skills, comparative analysis of press articles, etc.
  2. Addition of a Report Writer in Tropes and Zoom: Microsoft Excel© can be used very easily to generate analysis reports (containing tables and graphs) from Tropes or from Zoom. Results stemming from this module are designed to be easily understood by anyone (and in particular by your managers).
  3. Integration of the majority of files used in office automation and on Internet (seven new file formats are recognized: Acrobat PDF©, Microsoft Excel© and Powerpoint©, Macromedia Flash©, Microsoft Outlook© (as a utility) and Unicode UTF-8).
  4. Zoom Semantic Search Engine also benefits from New Statistical Functions : counting of files by subject on the whole database, statistic filtering of the significant branches of the Scenario, etc.
  5. Optimized search engine for Zoom which makes its requests four times faster than the previous versions.
  6. New generation of dictionaries and Scenarios enabling better analyses (see our February announcement).
  7. And many other modifications to make life easier for all our users.

The Tropes Zoom suite benefits at the same time from a non-specialized Semantic Search Engine on the workstation, a powerful Natural Language Processing and Text Analysis tool capable of indexing practically all the significant documents of a company in standard form.

A free update version
to Tropes or Zoom V6.2 will be sent to all our customers who have purchased our software in the last year– at Acetic, fair trade is standard practice! You may think that this is normal, but just look at what some other companies do...

Marketing in Spain and Portugal
Our software packages are today marketed directly by Cyberlex in Spain, Portugal and Latin America.
